Training
We provide a comprehensive package of training to all new staff, as well as annual and ad-hoc training as required to all existing staff to ensure a high level of care is maintained.
The training plan is focused on the Care Certificate, every carer who starts working for Brockton Care Limited will achieve the Care Certificate before they go out into the community.
Once the theoretical and office-based training has been completed successfully, our carers will be introduced into the community for a period of shadowing as recommended by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) with a more experienced carer. This period of shadowing will introduce the carers to the practical side of the role whilst being supported by a seasoned carer who can provide support and advice where needed. Where our carers have completed the mandatory shadowing period and are they are competent, the training is signed off and they are introduced to the community. If carers need a little more support, they are offered an extended period of shadowing in order to increase their confidence and capability, before being signed off as competent.
Where additional needs are identified, we seek to provide training to support these, which is available to all carers on the team. These additional training requirements have included
